Talladega Super Speedway: NASCAR Track Facts!

In the late 1960s, NASCAR founder Bill France Sr. envisioned building a new race track in Alabama, and he sought a site that was centrally located in the Southeast. The Talladega Superspeedway was built on a 2,000-acre site near the city of Talladega, Alabama, and opened its gates to fans in 1969. The Talladega race track is the largest NASCAR venue, and it typically produces the highest speeds on the circuit.

This race track is huge. it is not the longest, it cant be with the road tracks of the Circuit of the Americas and Sonoma being used in the season but it is the largest and longest oval, which lets face it is NASCAR racing, in the country!
